Game #3 Preview: Denver Nuggets at Indiana Pacers
November 3rd, 2009 | by sweetbob |
If you are a Pacers fan, this might not be the best time for Denver to come to town. The Pacers are without a few key pieces and Carmelo Anthony has came out of the gate on fire. Are we going to witness a blowout tonight or can the Pacers pull off the upset?
The Pacers didn’t do much against Miami the other night, they even possible lost Jeff Foster for a few games with an ankle injury. Tyler Hansbrough is out until maybe Friday night and Mike Dunleavy is still nursing off-season knee surgery. This game could get ugly fast, especially if Chauncey Billups and the rest of the Nuggets play at their usual level.
Carmelo Anthony is leading the NBA in scoring and guys like Nene and Kenyon Martin look improved from last year. The Nuggets are in the top-tier in the Western Conference and the Pacers look to be sliding near the bottom of the East.
Probable starting lineup for the game: Denver
PG – Chauncey Billips, SG – J.R. Smith, SF – Carmelo Anthony, PF – Kenyon Martin, C – Nene Hilario
Probable starting lineup for the game: Indiana
PG – T.J. Ford, SG – Brandon Rush, SF – Danny Granger, PF – Troy Murphy, C – Roy Hibbert
The Pacers already struggle with their defense and the Nuggets are one of the highest scoring teams in the Association. The Pacers lack height with Foster banged up and they are in dire need of another scorer. Even though the Pacers usually play pretty tough at home, the deck is stacked for Denver to come in and if they just play their normal game, they should come out with a victory.
Predicted score: Denver 129 – Indiana 92

That’s a rough starting lineup for the Pacers.
